2012 Whitty Movie Awards

Welcome to my review of the year in movies, at least the ones I was able to see.  The Hollywood trends of sequels and super hero movies continued with no end in sight.  The smaller budget movie did make a little headway and I believe that their popularity will increase with more and more “A list” actors deciding to go with the occasional independent feature.  It’s also encouraging that the number of great young American actresses who have cemented their place among Hollywood’’s elite seems to be on the climb (e.g. Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Michelle Williams, Emma Stone and Elizabeth Olsen).  Stay tuned and let’s get to the awards.

You haven’t seen The Hobbit? (What’s sadder than that… I’ve only seen 5 of your top 25)
